Mark Taft, Principal

Mark Taft has been in education for over thirty years as a teacher, principal, college professor, consultant and developer of school leaders. He received his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and his M.A from Villanova University. He has been an elementary principal for 27 years in Vermont with significant experience with multiage classes. He has taught 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders during his career as an elementary teacher. His hobbies include snowshoeing, traveling and a passion for scuba diving, having learned only 6 years ago.

A graduate of Lesley University, Mrs. Guertin has been a classroom teacher on the Preschool, Kindergarten, and Elementary level over the past thirty years.

Maggie lives in Alstead with her husband, three dogs and two gerbils that come home for school vacations. She finished up her Masters of Art in Teaching with Internet Technologies in December of 1998.

She joined James M. Faulkner Elementary in the spring of 1997 as the kindergarten and first grade teacher. The following year, Maggie switched rooms and taught second and third for the last 12 years. This is her first year teaching fourth and fifth grade for Stoddard. She had previously taught Kindergarten in Peterborough, New Hampshire.

 

Special Education Services

Janice Dialessi, Special Education Teacher
M.Ed.: Keene State College, Keene, New Hampshire

BS: Elementary Education, Muskingum College, New Concord, Ohio

Mrs. Dialessi began teaching as an elementary classroom teacher in an ungraded primary classroom in Emerson, NJ for two years. Then moving to Massachusetts, she taught 1st grade for two years in Oxford. While studying for a Masters Degree at Keene State College, Mrs. Dialessi worked as an instructional associate at Keene Middle School in special education programs. After completing her degree, she worked as a special education teacher for Walpole for 1 and a half years until the birth of her son. Later, returning to teaching, she taught for 16 years as a special education teacher; 13 of those years have been in the Stoddard School District.
