Stoddard P.T.O. Update

Monthly meetings are held at the elementary school on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. Members of the community are welcome to attend.

Our primary goal this year is to put back the "teacher" in our Parent/Teacher organization. Without the support and involvement of the teachers, we are merely a fund raising group. Not to say that raising money isn't an important objective. However, the PTO can most effectively assist the school by maintaining good communications with the teaching staff, thereby lending a hand where it is needed most.

Topics Discussed

1. Memo to parents, re: what is needed for turkey baskets

2. Baskets were donated - thank you note to Ray Lagasse

3. Feed a Friend program: Memo to be sent out for non-perishable goods. Check with Bethany. Send to run till Christmas break.

4. Christmas program: (planning) No date set for Christmas program. Tentative date December 20th 2001. Holiday parties next day for each classroom. Helen Hayes will find out date. Memo will need to be sent out to ask for refreshments for the Christmas program. Send out Dec. 10th 2001.

5. Holiday Ornament Craft Day: with students, check with teachers to do every other year. Start new year.

6. Holiday ornaments for teachers and students: Snowmen soup with bags. This will be done on December 13th, 2001 PTO meeting: Snowman ornaments: 40 students, 13 staff.

7. Needed for Snowman Soup: 1)red/green curling ribbons, 2)Swiss Miss hot cocoa, 3)marshmallows, 4)spoons, 5)permanent markers, 6)snowman bags, 7)hole punches, 8)index cards.

8. Drawing for turkey raffle and classroom raffle on November 16th, 2001.

9. Drawing for next classroom raffle on December 21st, 2001 during classroom parties.

10. November 16th: Linda Z. will draw raffle tickets for turkey baskets. Star of the day will pick for each class.

11. Ticket colors: green: K/1, Grey: 2/3, Blue: 4/5

12. Note winners of turkey basket raffle: (Elizabeth Haley, Mrs. Dionne)
